To accept a gay man but reject a trans woman is to betray the promise of Stonewall. As activist and author Raquel Willis puts it, "You cannot separate the fight for sexual orientation from the fight for gender identity. They are two branches of the same tree: the tree that says you have the right to be who you are and love who you love."
